Table of Contents

When I first started travelling I would throw bits and bobs together hoping for the best with fingers crossed I do not miss any essentials. After travelling for some time now as a seasoned traveller and getting questions on the regular, “What should I pack for a trip?”, I have put together a streamline packing guide. These will include essential and electronic gear I pack on most of my trips.

Every trip will vary differently with the clothes and length of stay but overall I will stick to these main items.

Use this guide to determine what you may need or may not need. Consider that this is what I personally find useful.

Below you will find my ideal travel gear packing guide I use every time!

    Travel Gear

These travel essentials help me to be organised for every trip. Finding the right travel backpack and gear backpack is key.

    1. Packing Cubes

These help to compartmentalise you things so they are easy to find, use and return.

    2. Backpack

General backpacks that are compact fitting into most airline bag standards but with the most compartments are my go-to.

    3. Luggage

Hard shell luggage cases protect your valuables more and again make sure they are the correct sizes for the specific airline allowances.

    4. Travel Adapters

These are cheaper if bought before your travels and multi-adapters are more compact. Note: For cruises only use cruise-approved ones.

    5. Neck Pillow

Particularly for long-haul journeys, this will make your travels comfier. Invest in good quality ones and you will feel the difference.

    6. Reusable Water Bottle

Stay hydrated always and carry a water bottle which can be refilled at water stations.

    7. Travel Documents Wallet

Have a designated wallet/file for your important documents to be in one place.

    8. Bag Lock

A TSA-approved bag lock is great for unattended bags in hotels, travelling cases or on your bag back in crowded places.

    Electronic Gear

    1. Noise-cancelling Headphones

Block out unwanted noise and enjoy your music, movies, or podcasts in peace, especially on long flights or crowded environments.

    2. Battery Pack

Keep your devices powered up on the go, especially when you don’t have access to a power outlet.

    3. Ipad/Laptop

For writing blog posts, editing photos and videos, and staying connected to emails etc.

    4. Apple Tags

Attach these to your valuable belongings to track their location in case they get lost or stolen.

    5. Smartphone

A versatile device for staying connected, taking photos and videos, using travel apps, and navigating your travels.

    6. External Hardrive

Back up your important files, photos, and videos to avoid losing valuable data.

    Photography Gear

To explore the resorts around you will want to be warm, comfy and practical when it comes to staying at a ski resort. Below are some off the mountain items you should pack on a ski holiday.

    1. Camera
This is essential for capturing high-quality images and videos. In my case I use the Sony A7III.

A tripod provides stability, for long exposures and capturing couple/group shots with the photographer included also.

    3. GoPro
This is a versatile action camera that is perfect for adventure sports and water activities.

Different lenses allow you to capture various shots, such as wide-angle landscapes, portraits, or close-ups. I have the: 4/18-105, 4.5-6.3/55-210, 1.8/85, 1.8/35.

A drone can provide aerial perspectives, offering unique angles for photos and videos.

Essential for storing your photos and videos, ensuring you have enough space to capture all your memories.

The camera bag must hold my camera, lenses and tripod without being overly bulky.
