Iceland is one of the most amazing places for fantastic photography and views of the dramatic landscapes. In this post I will share some epic pictures that were taken on my trip to Iceland that will make you want to visit ICELAND!
Vik i Myrdal Church
Imagine a quaint white-washed and red-roofed church perched dramatically on a hill overlooking a vast expanse of black sand. This is Vik I Myrdal Church, a captivating symbol of Icelandic resilience. Standing alone against the elements, it paints a picture of serenity against the power of nature.
Skogafoss
Iceland boasts a multitude of waterfalls, each with its own breathtaking personality. Skogafoss, the mighty Skóga River thundering down a 60-meter cliff, is a display of raw power and untamed beauty. Feel the spray on your face as you stand beneath this awe-inspiring cascade.
Solheimasandur Plane Crash
The story of the Solheimasandur plane wreck is as fascinating as the sight itself. A US Navy DC-3 plane crash-landed on the black sand beach in 1973, and the abandoned plane now lies half-buried, a stark reminder of the island’s unforgiving yet strangely captivating beauty.
Sunset at Vik beach
Vik Beach, with its jet-black sand and towering Reynisdrangar sea stacks, offers a dramatic backdrop for a truly unforgettable sunset. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky explodes with vibrant hues of orange, creating a breathtaking symphony of colour against the stark black landscape.
Road Trip
Iceland is best explored at your own pace and a road trip offers the ultimate freedom to discover gems, especially in your own rental car. Imagine cruising down scenic highways, with snow-capped mountains on one side and vast volcanic plains on the other. Every turn on the road promises a new breathtaking sight.
If these 5 pictures of Iceland don’t make you want to visit this beautiful country, I do not know what will! Maybe another post of more pictures.
