Language: The main language spoken is Icelandic, as well as English.
Currency: The currency in Iceland is the Icelandic króna, but many places will also accept the Euro and the US Dollar.
Credit Cards and ATMs: In Iceland most places accept credit or debit cards, so no need to worry about carrying too much cash around with you. However, contactless is limited so be sure to remember your chip and pin details.
Plugs: The plugs in Iceland are Type F. The standard voltage is 230 V, and standard frequency is 50Hz.

Accommodation – We stayed at the Storm Hotel by Keahotels which was part of the flights package via easyjet. We were super happy with this central location. The room, breakfast and allocated parking was what we needed. The parking lot was small but we managed to just about get a space every night. I can imagine on busier times of the year this could be challenging.
Food – As I had heard food can be expensive in Iceland I made sure to take a hot water flask, packs of noodles and lots of road trip snacks. I think I packed a little too much in all honesty but this kept us going! We did go to one of their local supermarkets to have a mooch and yes the cost of drinks etc were pricier however we didn’t go crazy when shopping. When we go shopping abroad we tend to look out for things that we would not necessarily find at home. We found applsin soda drink which made the holiday x100 better!
Transportation – I would recommend hiring a car if you are apple to drive as this enables you to be more flexible and see more places in a short space of time. However, it can be daunting if you are a new driving particularly when the weather conditions in winter can get very blistery and scary on the roads. There are many tour buses/coaches which do days out which you can book. Also some hotels run their own touristic itineraries which is worth asking about.
Suggested Daily Budget – 50-60 GBP / 52-62 USD
